|Heinlen & Mat Damon

Last month you posted a link to a song that was played on TV about which a singer sang to her boy friend about what she was doing with Matt Damon.|
I wanted to add a note, but I'm not finding it.
Remember in Heinlein's Door Into Summer where Daniel Boone Davis told the reader how "kink" was not a bad word back when he came from? It was an effective guess then. But we are now at that time, and, as you said - nobody expected what really happened.
The Religious Right sometimes makes Vulgar language into a religious issue - but it isn't. It's always been a class issue. Using the proper language to say "poop" isn't something that an all-knowing being cares about.
When the elite class use explicit language, or wear blue jeans - it stops being vulgar. And that is happening.
